Dentures that fit, retain and look real

Acrylic, cobalt-chrome, flexible and fully digital dentures, plus fast repairs and relines.

Dentures made by Flora Dental Lab

Denture remakes are rarely about the acrylic or the framework, they come from a design decision made without enough information: a partial planned before the tissue was assessed, a flexible material chosen where a cobalt-chrome framework was the better fit, or a reline done without checking the borders. Flora Dental Lab fabricates the full denture range: complete and immediate, cobalt-chrome and flexible partials, flippers, unilaterals, digital dentures, and repairs, and this guide sets out how to choose between them.

Choosing the Right Denture Design
Remaining teeth and their prognosisThe number, position and health of the remaining teeth decide whether a case is a partial or heads toward a complete or immediate denture. Abutment condition drives clasp and rest design on a partial.Tissue support and undercutsRidge form, undercuts and tissue tone decide retention and material. A well-defined ridge supports a rigid framework; a knife-edge or flabby ridge changes the design and sometimes the material.Rigid framework or flexible materialCobalt-chrome gives the strongest, thinnest, best-retained partial; flexible nylon suits shallow undercuts and patients who reject visible metal. The choice is clinical, not just preference.

Denture Types at a Glance

The table below summarises when each denture type fits and what drives its retention.

A quick comparison for case planning.

Denture type Best for Retention Note
Cobalt-chrome partial Stable partials with sound abutment teeth Clasps and rests on abutments Thinnest, strongest, best for hygiene
Flexible (nylon) partial Shallow undercuts, metal-averse patients Tissue engagement, flexible clasps No metal display; not a framework substitute
Acrylic partial Transitional and cost-sensitive cases Clasps and tissue coverage Simple, adjustable, easy to add teeth
Complete / immediate Edentulous or full-clearance cases Tissue support and border seal Immediate needs a follow-up reline
Digital / 3D-printed Reproducible cases with records on file As per design Fast remakes from a stored file

Whichever design the case takes, the lab needs the ridge detail, the bite and the abutment condition to build a denture that fits and holds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you should know

Do you accept digital scans for dentures?+

Yes, for suitable cases, we work both digital and conventional. Well-extended borders still decide the fit, whatever the capture method.

Cobalt-chrome or flexible partial?+

Cobalt-chrome for strength, hygiene and a rigid, well-retained partial; flexible for shallow undercuts or patients who will not accept visible metal. Describe the case and we will advise.

Can you add a tooth to an existing denture?+

Usually yes, send the denture and the details of the tooth to add. Acrylic dentures are the easiest to add to.

How does an immediate denture work?+

It is fitted at the time of extraction so the patient is never without teeth, then relined once the ridge has healed and settled.

What turnaround should I expect?+

Denture work runs on a planned schedule with defined stages. We confirm the timeline when the case arrives so fit appointments are booked once.
